We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer scholarships for Professional Development Programs this year thanks to the Alex Tanous Foundation for Scientific Research. The scholarships will support individuals who are seeking to make a change in their lives through professional development.
SHRM
As the leading advocate for HR professionals worldwide and provider of HR research and education, SHRM launched an unparalleled study to define not only the knowledge but also the competencies required of today’s HR leaders. The result is a new SHRM certification (beginning in 2015) designed to meet these new HR demands.

USM Professional & Continuing Education will be participating in the May 2014 Maine HR Convention.

Supportive Hands
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USM will be offering a partial scholarship for the academic year 2014-2015 for the Gerontology Certificate program. The scholarship will be awarded to one in-state, non-degree student at the rate of $500 per course for a total of $2,500. The application deadline is May 1, 2014.
