PLA Excelsior

UExcel (formerly called Excelsior)

UExcel exams are standardized tests

These exams can help you enter the university at a higher level.  These examinations are computer-based. Maine has several UExcel testing sites. USM is NOT a testing site for UExcel exams.

Getting Started

While USM is not a testing site for UExcel exams, you can take exams at a variety of locations throughout the State of Maine.

UExcel offers a variety of exams, but only a few have been approved for USM credit.

Please note: A B or better is required on all UExcel exams that have been evaluated as appropriate for credit at USM.
