Technology Assistance

Technology Guide

Please check out the Technology Assistance LibGuide.We are proud to add technology assistance at the Learning Commons. We are happy to integrate writing, ESOL, and math tutoring with technology assistance and the library's research resources.

Further Technology Support

Students can work with a Student Technology Assistant on all three USM campuses, or receive this service online.  To schedule a 50-minute appointment or to submit a question about technology, please visit USM AskOnline.  A tutorial video will help you create your account and schedule an appointment.

Computers

The Learning Commons PCs and Macs with the full range of academic applications and programs including Microsoft Office. Photoshop and other special programs are offered on select machines. Laptops are available for checkout at the Library Circulation desk on the first floor in Portland and Gorham.

 Printing

Printing is available for a nominal charge. Wireless printing is also available from laptops or other mobile devices. Charges are deducted from the Husky Bucks account.

Technology Tutoring

Technology tutoring is available by apointment through USM AskOnline. The Learning Commons staff are always willing to answer your questions or refer you to someone who can assist you..

Large Screen Monitors

Large screen monitors are available in several of the group study and instructional rooms in Portland and Gorham. Go to USM OpenRoom to view spaces.

Scanning

Scanning is available at no charge on select computers. Scanning to email is also available on the photocopiers at no charge. Faxing is not available at this time.
