Undergraduate student enrollment

Submit your deposit now so you can meet with your advisor, register for classes, and attend orientation.

All undergraduate students entering a bachelor’s degree program must submit a non-refundable* $100 enrollment deposit.

After you submit your enrollment deposit, there are still some important steps you must complete before attending your first class. Keep your acceptance packet handy!


Graduate student enrollment

Submit your deposit now so you can meet with your faculty advisor to plan your course load and attend orientation.

Confirm your intent to enroll in one of the following degree programs by submitting the required, non-refundable* $100 enrollment deposit:

Check your admission letter for your enrollment deadline.

Complete the following form by the deadline stated in your admission letter to confirm your intent to enroll in one of our graduate degree programs without a deposit requirement.

After you confirm your intent to enroll (by either a form submission or an enrollment deposit as noted in the previous accordions), we’ll send you an invite for an orientation course through Brightspace within 2 business days.

The orientation course will provide you with some important steps you must complete before attending your first class.


Certificate student enrollment

Confirm your intent to enroll now so you can register for classes.

Confirm your intent to enroll in one of our undergraduate certificate programs by the deadline stated in your admission letter in one of the following ways:

  • Email us your intent to enroll and include the following:
    • Your full name
    • The name of the certificate program
    • The semester you intend to start
  • Mail us the yellow confirmation card that arrived with your admission letter:

Complete the following form by the deadline stated in your admission letter to confirm your intent to enroll in one of our Certificate of Graduate Study or Certificate of Advanced Study programs.

After you confirm your intent to enroll (as noted in the preceding accordions), there are still some important steps you must complete before attending your first class. Keep your admission letter handy!


Pay your deposit

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, checks, money orders, and international bank payments.

  1. Log in to MaineStreet
    • Use the credentials included with your Admission letter or email
  2. Select Student Self-Service
    • Your bill may show $0.00
      • Your deposit is the initial payment toward your admission and your tuition bill will arrive later
    • If you choose the mobile-friendly Student Center experience
      • Select the Financials tab at the top of your screen
      • Look for the What I Owe widget block
    • If you choose the Classic Student Center experience
      • Look for the Finances block on the left side of your screen
      • Select Pay My Deposit
  3. If you applied to more than one school in the University of Maine System, choose University of Southern Maine from the dropdown menu and press Select
  4. Choose the semester you plan to start from the dropdown menu and press Select
  5. Choose USM Admissions Deposit from the next dropdown menu and press Select
  6. In the Payment Amount field, enter your deposit amount and press Continue
    • Undergraduate students, enter “100”
    • Graduate students, enter “100”
  7. Choose your payment method from the dropdown menu and press Continue
    • If you choose to pay by e-check (ACH) there is no service fee
    • If you choose to pay by credit card, a non-refundable service fee (2.85% or a minimum of $3.00) will be added to your deposit total
    • Enter your payment information
  8. Follow the remaining prompts until you receive confirmation and a payment receipt

Undergraduate students: Make sure to include the Accepted Student Confirmation Card that arrived with your admission letter.

Graduate students: Make sure to include a piece of paper with your full name, home address, and student ID number.
