Where is your favorite spot to go to in the southern Maine region?
My husband and I love to sit by the water at East End Beach at the bottom of Munjoy Hill in Portland at dusk. There you are surrounded by all my favorite things about the Portland area - the ocean, the city, the islands, and the beach. It always makes me feel so peaceful to sit on the rocks there and look out at Casco Bay.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
Start the college admission process early. Visit campuses, give teachers and guidance counselors plenty of notice to write recommendation letters, proofread your essay, and apply early.
Favorite little known fact about USM.
Aramark, (our dining services provider), actually grows its own herbs and vegetables in a greenhouse right outside of the Gorham Dining Commons.
Favorite meal at a restaurant in the greater Portland area.
I love sushi, and Yosaku restaurant in the Old Port is the best! The fish is so fresh, straight from the docks in Portland to the restaurant, and the meals are authentic and delicious!
