Chris began working for the University of Southern Maine in 1990 and has seen many changes over the years. In 2004 she was nominated by collegues and honored to win the Distinguished Classified Staff award. This award is given annually to a staff member who "demonstrates an outstanding level of knowledge and performance in support of the University and the greater community. The award recipient sets an ongoing precedence of distinction in their field."
Chris works on one of the front desks and loves working in a student centered office. She is always happy to help with any questions you may have. If she doesn't know the answer, she'll find out for you.
She attended Southern Maine Community College’s Office Management program before being hired at USM. She is the Supervisor of Student Employees for the office, handles the website, the "Success TV" monitors in Payson Smith and Bailey Hall, and is currently a Building Representative for the Classified Union.
In her spare time she enjoys traveling, movies, reading, yoga and spending time with her new grandson. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their 4 dogs (and various foster dogs). Chris pursues her passion for animal welfare by working with German Shepherd Rescue of New England, the Cumberland County Animal Response Team and a variety of other animal rescues.
