American Studies

American and New England Studies student Susannah Clark has been accepted as the Summer 2013 Horticulture Intern at the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This internship with the Historic Landscape Department will include planting, harvesting, maintenance, and interpretation of the museums varied historic gardens. As an outdoor history museum, Strawbery Banke shares stories of 350 years of change in this waterfront neighborhood, and their gardens include a colonial kitchen garden, herb gardens, a “Victory Garden,” and a heritage orchard. The summer internship will also include working with curators to explore garden related objects within the museum collection for upcoming exhibits, and visits to other regional museums. Come visit!
