Thesis and Project Information

Students may pursue a 30-credit program that includes a thesis or project or they may follow a 36-credit program that does not include a thesis or project. Students who elect the 36-credit program must complete two research papers in elective courses. Those who elect the 30-credit program should begin thinking about the thesis or project topic after completing five courses in the ANES program. A student’s advisor and the ANES faculty will be useful resources as the student decides on whether to complete a thesis or a project and what their focus will be. Completed theses and projects are housed in the ANES office located at 98 Bedford Street on the USM Portland campus for consultation.
