The University of Southern Maine Arboretum is located in Gorham, Maine, just a short trip inland from Portland. It encompasses USM's historic Gorham Campus and currently includes more than 110 trees with new species being planted, catalogued and added all the time. The diversity of living specimens represented in the arboretum is crucial to the longevity of the local tree population and creates a rich environment for humans and many other creatures.
Shade or Street Trees: Trees that have qualities that enhance urban areas by utilizing their growth habits, durability and hardiness.
Ornamental: Smaller trees or large shrubs usually less than 30’ tall or wide that have qualities that can be used to enhance property.
