Huskies Finish Fourth at GNAC Championship
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle)
shot a 166 (84-82) over two days to finish 11th individually and lead the
University of Southern Maine Huskies to a fourth place finish at the 2009 Great
Northeast Athletic Conference Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at Allendale
Country Club in North Dartmouth, Mass.
Moskevich finished as the Huskies’ top golfer turning in a 22 over par
performance during the 36-hole championship on the part-72, 6,735 yard course.
Moskevich placed 11th out of 35 golfers as Southern Maine tallied 694 strokes to
earn a fourth place finish in the seven-team championship. Defending champion
Johnson and Wales University earned the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA
tournament next spring with a team total of 635. Rhode Island College finished
second (648), followed by UMass Dartmouth in third (655).
Johnson and Wales’ Steve LeDonne was the tournament’s individual medalist
with a score 154. JWU’s Bobby Newcomb placed second and shot 75 and 80 for 155.
Bryan Picinisco of RIC was third with scored of 78 and 80 for 155, while Derek
Jensen of RIC shot 79 and 83 for 162, and Nick Jagoe of UMass Dartmouth shot 80
and 82 for 162. As the top five finishers, they were named to the All-Conference
Team, and LeDonne was named Most Valuable Player. Conor O’Malley and Matt
Munden of UMD joined Kyle Harper of RIC and Daniel Ferdenzi of Emmanuel on the
All-Rookie Team.
USM senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) tied for the 15th spot with a two-day
total of 171 (87-84) and was followed by sophomore Cody Berkowitz (Saco,
Maine/Thornton Academy) who placed 19th with a score of 176 (88-88). Sophomore
Dan Chadwick (Gorham, Maine) finished 24th with a score of 183 (96-87).
The tournament concludes the Huskies 2009 season.

Southern Maine Fifth After First Round of GNAC Championship
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny
Eagle) is tied for 10th place as the University of Southern Maine Huskies are
currently seated in fifth place after the first day of the 2009 Great Northeast
Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golf Championship hosted at the Allendale Country
Club in North Dartmouth, Mass.
Moskevich shot a 12-over par 84 to pace the Huskies at Allendale Country
Club’s par-72 6,735 yard course. The Huskies have totaled 353 strokes and are
fifth out of seven teams. Johnson and Wales leads the field with a team total
of 315 after the first day.
Southern Maine returns to action on Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

Moskevich Paces Huskies at NEIGA Tournament
BREWSTER, Mass. – Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle)
recorded a team-best two-day total of (82-83) 165 to lead the University of
Southern Maine Huskies at the 75th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf
(NEIGA) Championship hosted Monday and Tuesday at the Captains Golf Course in
Brewster, Mass.
Tied for 111th out of 194 golfers, Moskevich carded an 83 in the second day
of the 36-hole format tournament as the Huskies finished 33rd out of a 39-team
field. The NEIGA Championship included teams from New England spanning the
Division I, II and III levels.
Bryant University’s Jason Thresher was the tournament’s individual medalist
with a score of 141 over 36 holes. Division I University of Connecticut won the
tournament with a two-day total of 582, followed by Division I Central
Connecticut State in second place with a score of 588. Salem State College led
the Division III teams finishing seventh overall with a score of 609.
Senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) was the second Husky finisher placing tied
for 118th with a score of 166, followed by sophomore Cody Berkowitz (Saco,
Maine/Thornton Academy) who placed tied for 124th with a score of 167.
Sophomore Dan Chadwick (Gorham, Maine) tied for 167th totaling 177 strokes over
two days, while sophomore Zach Porter (Keene, N.H.) tied for 181st with a score
of 183.

Southern Maine at First Day of NEIGA Championship
BREWSTER, Mass. – Following the first day of the 75th Annual New England
Intercollegiate Golf Championship (NEIGA) the University of Southern Maine
Huskies golf team is in 31st place with a score of 338. The Huskies are
currently 31 out of 41 competing teams spanning the NCAA Division I, II and III
heading into the second day of the tournament at the Captains Golf Course in
Brewster, Mass.
Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) leads the Huskies
after 18-holes carding a team-best 82. Moskevich is tied for 95th place
individually in a field of 194 golfers. Senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) is tied
for 107th with a first day total of 83, followed by sophomore Cody Berkowitz
(Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) in a tie for 125th position with a score of 85.
The Huskies return to the links at 7:45 a.m. for the final day of the 36-
hole tournament.

Huskies Place Third At Husson University Invitational
BANGOR, Maine – Sophomore Dan Chadwick (Gorham, Maine) shot a team-low 80
to lead the University of Southern Maine to a third place finish at the 2009
Husson University Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the Penobscot Valley Country
Club in Orono, Maine.
The Huskies finished third out of seven teams with a team score of 333.
Host Husson University won the event as three players shot a four-over-par 76 to
lead the field to score a total of 305 strokes. UMaine Farmington placed second
with a 324, followed by Southern Maine. Thomas College placed fourth with a
score of 349.
Chadwick finished sixth overall out of 28 golfers. Sophomore Steele Blais
(Exeter, N.H.) was the second USM golfer placing eighth, shooting an 82, while
sophomore Zach Porter (Keene, N.H.) carded an 84 for ninth place. Freshman
Austin Brown (Nashua, N.H.) rounded out the USM scoring with an 87.

Moskevich and Chadwick Lead Huskies To Southern Maine Cup Victory
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Sophomores Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny
Eagle) and Dan Chadwick (Gorham, Maine) teamed to a shoot an even par 70 to lead
the field as the University of Southern Maine Huskies golf team placed first at
the 2009 Southern Maine Cup played at Sable Oaks Golf Course in South Portland
Friday afternoon.
The Southern Maine Cup features pairs of golfers playing six holes of best
ball, followed by six holes of scramble format and finally six holed of
alternate shot golf.
Southern Maine won the event with a total of 11-over-par 221 led by
Moskevich and Chadwick’s low-round of the tournament. Senior Ryan Daly (York,
Maine) and freshman Austin Brown (Nashua, N.H./Exeter) carded a 75 for the
Huskies, while sophomores Cody Berkowitz (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) and Zach
Porter (Keene, N.H.) turned in 76.
UMaine Farmington placed second with a score of 231, followed by the
University of New England in third place with a 236. St. Joseph’s College
(Maine) rounded out the team scoring in fourth place with a score of 242. The
UMaine Farmington duo of juniors Richard Matthews (Portland, Maine) and Reid
Bond (Farmington, Maine) turned in the second best round of the day with a score
of 72.

Huskies Finish Fifth at USM Fall Classic
Husson Takes Team Title As Byrne Earns Individual Honors
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Sophomore Cody Berkowitz (Saco, Maine/Thornton
Academy) turned in a team-best 79 to lead the University of Southern Maine
Huskies to a fifth place finish Monday at the 2009 USM Fall Classic at Sable
Oaks Golf Course in South Portland, Maine.
The Husson University Eagles won the team championship with total of 314
strokes. Husson’s Kevin Bryne earned individual medalist honors with an
outstanding three-over-par 73 on the 6,359 yard course. Endicott College placed
second with a 319 followed my UMaine Farmington in third with 323. The
University of New England edged out Southern Maine for fourth place with a score
of 329 in the eight team event.
Berkowitz was the only USM player to finish in the top-ten of the event
tying for fifth place. Husson had two players in the top ten with John Ellis
tying for fifth. USM senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) tied for 13th carding an
82.
Southern Maine hosts its Southern Maine cup on Friday (11:30 a.m.) at Sable
Oaks in South Portland. The Southern Maine Cup features pairs of golfers
playing six holes of best ball, followed by six holes of scramble format and

Huskies Second At Maine State Championship,/center>
VASSALBORO, Maine – Sophomore Zach Porter (Keene, N.H.) turned in a team-
best two-day total of 162 (83-79) to lead the University of Southern Maine
Huskies golf team to a second place finish at the 2009 Maine State Collegiate
Golf Championship hosted by Thomas College at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro,
Maine.
Porter carded a 79 on the second day of the tournament to place ninth out
of 53 golfers. The Huskies finished second with 658 points behind team champion
the Husson University Eagles. Husson won the 11-team event with a score of 619.
Husson’s Kevin Bryne totaled a 149 (80-69) over two days to as the Eagles
snagged the first three spots individually.
Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) and senior Ryan Daly
(York, Maine) finished tied for 16th. Both Moskevich and Daly turned in a 165.
Southern Maine hosts the USM Fall Classic on Monday (10:00 a.m.) at Sable

Schedule Change for USM Fall Classic
GORHAM, Maine – Due to impending inclement weather the USM Fall Classic
has been shortened to a one-day even on Monday, September 28. The announcement
was made today by the USM Athletic Department.
Originally scheduled to be played over two days beginning on Sunday,
September 27, the USM Fall Classic will now begin at 10 a.m. at Sable Oaks Golf
Club in South Portland, Maine.
Southern Maine is currently competing at the Maine State Tournament at the
Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro, Maine.

Huskies Take Fourth at John Queenan Memorial Tournament
Point Sebago, Maine – Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny
Eagle) carded a team-best 82 to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to
a fourth place finish at the 2009 John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament hosted
by St. Joseph’s College (Maine) at the Point Sebago Golf Resort in Point Sebago,
Maine on Tuesday.
Husson University recorded a team score of 310 to capture the team
championship for the fourth consecutive year. UMaine Farmington placed second
with a score of 340, followed by the University of New England in third place
with 341 points. The Huskies placed fourth with 342 points along with Thomas
College. St. Joseph’s College rounded out the scoring in fifth with a total of
353 strokes.
Four golfers from Husson finished in the top five spots led by individual
medalist Kevin Byrne who took the top spot with a one-over-par 73. Moskevick
finished inside the top ten placing eighth. Freshman Corey Dobson (Marlborough,
Mass.) finished tied for 10th with an 84.

Southern Maine Finishes Second at UMF Invitational
BETHEL, Maine -- Senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) finished second overall
out of a field of 40 golfers to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies
golf team to a second place finish at the 2009 UMaine Farmington Golf
Invitational Thursday afternoon at Sunday River Golf Club in Bethel, Maine.
One of two USM golfers to finish in the top ten, Daly carded a team-best 80
at the 6,558-yard par 72 course as the Huskies totaled 331 strokes to earn a
second place finish. Husson University earned the top spot with a team total of
322. UMaine Farmington finished closely behind USM with 334 strokes for third

Southern Maine Finishes Eighth at Bowdoin Invitational
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Sophomore Cody Berkowitz (Saco, Maine/Thornton
Academy) tied for 26th place out of 53 golfers to pace the University of
Southern Maine Huskies golf team to a eighth-place finish at the 2009 Bowdoin
College Golf Invitational that was held Saturday and Sunday at Brunswick Golf
Club in Brunswick, Maine.
Berkowitz turned in a two-day total of 163 (76-87). The Husky sophomore
was the individual top ten following the first day of competition but slid back
in the second round. Berkowitz tied with Brandeis University Scott Beaulac for
26th place.
The Huskies finished eighth out of nine team scoring a team total of 672
strokes. Husson University took the team championship with a two-day total of
599, followed by St. Anselm’s 608. Brandeis placed third with a 621, while host
Bowdoin took fourth with a 630.
Senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) and sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton,
Maine/Bonny Eagle) each tied for 31st turning in identical two-day totals of
167. Sophomore Zach Porter (Keene, N.H.) placed tied for 45th with a score of
175.
Southern Maine returns to action on Thursday (12:00 p.m.) at the UMaine
Farmington Invitational at the Sunday River Golf Club in Bethel, Maine.

Southern Maine Places Third At UNE Golf Invitational
SCARBOROUGH, Maine -- Senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) and sophomore Brian
Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) each carded a team-best 79 to lead the
University of Southern Maine Huskies golf team to a third place finish at the
2009 University of New England Golf Invitational at Nonesuch River Golf Course
Friday afternoon in Scarborough, Maine.
Daly was one of two Southern Maine golfers to finish in the top ten of the
tournament, helping the Huskies to a team score of 328. Endicott College placed
first totaling 309 strokes, followed by host University of New England in second
place with a score of 324. St. Joseph’s College (Maine) finished fourth with a
340.
Daly and Moskevich’s 79 was nine strokes over par at the par-70 Nonesuch
River Golf Course. Endicott’s Andrew LaRocque was the individual champion
turning in a five-over 75 for the win. Endicott had three golfers finish in the
top four of the invitational.
Sophomores Cody Berkowitz (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) and Zach Porter
(Keene, N.H.) rounded out the scoring for USM. Berkowitz shot an 84 and Porter
shot an 86. Southern Maine’s fifth golfer Matt Regan (Saco, Maine/Old Orchard
Beach) turned in a 91.

Huskies Golf Finishes Fourth at Terrier Invitational
VASSALBORO, Maine -- Led by a team-best 81 from sophomore Cody Berkowitz
(Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) the University of Southern Maine Huskies golf
team placed fourth at the 2009 Terrier Invitational hosted by Thomas College at
Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro, Maine.
The Huskies totaled 339 strokes to finish fourth out of seven competing
teams. Husson College placed first with 318 strokes, followed by Bowdoin (326)
and UMaine Farmington (332). Thomas College finished behind USM in fifth with
352 strokes. UMaine Presque Isle (362) and Maine Maritime Academy (376) rounded
out the team scoring.
Berkowitz finished nine strokes over par at the 18-hole par-72 course that
is 6,338 yards in length. Berkowitz was just three strokes off of co-champions
Nick Waltz of UMaine Farmington and Kevin Byrne of Husson College who each
carded a 78 to place first.
Senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) was the second USM finisher shooting an 83,
while sophomore Zach Porter (Keene, N.H.) carded a solid 86 during the round.
Sophomore Dan Chadwick (Gorham, Maine) rounded out the scoring for the Huskies
turning in an 89.
Southern Maine returns to action on Friday (11 a.m.) for the University of
New England Invitational.

Huskies Edge Out St. Joseph’s 163-169 at Sable Oaks
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine -- Sophomore Cody Berkowitz (Saco, Maine/Thornton
Academy) and freshman Corey Dobson (Marlborough, Mass.) each carded a team-best
39 to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies golf team to season-opening
163-169 win over the St. Joseph’s College Monks in a nine-hole head-to-head
competition Friday afternoon at Sable Oaks Golf Club in South Portland, Maine.
Berkowitz and Dobson shared top honors and finished just four strokes over
par to lead the Huskies. Sophomore Brian Moskevich (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle)
and senior Ryan Daly (York, Maine) rounded out the scoring the Huskies.
Moskevich turned in a 42, while Daly scored a 43. Sophomores Zach Porter
(Keene, N.H.) and Dan Chadwick (Gorham, Maine) finished the fifth and sixth USM
golfers each shooting a 45.
Senior Michael Patrick (Wells, Maine) and sophomore T.J. Garske (Federal
Way, WA/John F. Kennedy Memorial) finished as the top Monk golfers each turning
in a 41.
Southern Maine returns to action on Tuesday (10 a.m.) at the Terrier
