Dan Del Gallo: USM's First Wrestling National Champion!
Del Gallo ends his career as the program's all-time leader in wins, an NCAA All-American and USM's first wrestling national champion. A 2016 Academic All-American, Del Gallo is a two-time winner of the NCAA Elite 90 award - given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at a National Championship event. He is a Philosophy/Sociology major.
LEC Honors Leal and Starks of Huskies' Men's Basketball
Seniors Zach Leal and Jimmy Starks earned post-season honors from the LEC. Leal became just the 26th USM men's basketball player to score 1000 points in his career, while Starks was among the nation's leaders in rebounding. Leal is an Electrical Engineering major, and Starks is pursuing a degree in English.
Huskies’ Del Gallo and Luth Earn Fourth Consecutive NWCA Scholar All-American Honor
Senior captains CJ Luth and Dan Del Gallo have excelled academically and athletically throughout their careers as USM student-athletes. Luth, an Exercise Science major, and Del Gallo, a Philosophy/Sociology major, nearly have 4.0 GPAs.
Eells and Luckhardt Earn Post Season Honors for Huskies' Women's Basketball
A pair of University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's basketball freshman, Chantel Eells and Jackie Luckhardt, earned post-season honors after solid rookie campaign. Eells is a Social Work major, while Luckhardt is enrolled in the Athletic Training program.
