USM's Kyte to Play in World Deaf Ice Hockey Championships

 GORHAM, Maine -- University of Southern Maine freshman men's ice hockey defenseman Johnny Kyte (Carp, Ontario) will be representing his home country of Canada in the third World Deaf Ice Hockey Championships in Williamstown, N.Y.  The first games of the tournament begin tomorrow.

            The American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association, in association with USA Hockey and the Amherst (N.Y.) Youth Hockey Association, are hosting the championships at the NorthTown Center in Amherst, N.Y., from April 19-27.

            Kyte will be on the Canadian team along with his brother Thomas and cousins Sean and Patrick Kyte.  Johnny and Thomas Kyte's twin sisters, Abigayle and Emma, are also playing for Canada in the first-ever Women's Deaf Ice Hockey Championship. READ MORE
