Self Defense Course
Dates: Mondays, February 27–March 19, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Where: Sullivan Complex, Multi-Purpose Room
Raise your awareness, enhance safety skills, and gain inner confidence and outer strength. Take on every day troublesome interactions at work, home, and in the public. Learn about violence against specific groups and address your own safety concerns. Physical and verbal self defense skills taught are practical, effective, and fun and accessible to all regardless of physical conditioning or ability. This class is both serious and fun, with lots of movement! All moves completely adaptable.
FREE AND OPEN TO ALL: Students, Staff, Faculty, and Community.
Instructor: Clara Porter is the founder of Prevention. Action. Change. and a certified self defense instructor with the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation. Clara also coordinates the USM Campus Safety Project.
