Certificate Program in Professional Coaching

The demand for professional coaching is growing as more and more people realize the value of working with a coach to help them move from where they are to where they want to be. Whether dealing with life transitions or achieving career goals, coaches help define, refine, and make progress toward their goals. Coaches help people get "unstuck." Businesses and organizations also recognize the value of coaching as a cost-effective employee development tool. With the added support of a coach, employees can often increase their effectiveness, learn to be more creative, assume greater responsibilities, and grow professionally, resulting in better performance and a more loyal workforce.

The USM Certificate Program in Professional Coaching is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to integrate coaching skills in their work and in their lives. HR professionals, supervisors, and managers, as well as anyone considering starting an independent professional coaching practice or anyone looking to strengthen an existing practice will all benefit from this introduction to the essential skills and basic fundamentals of coaching.

The program consists of five sequential courses including a capstone practicum which provides three, one-hour telecoaching sessions with Barbara Wilson. These courses may also be taken individually.
