The Coach's Tool Kit

This course will introduce participants to a range of tools and techniques, models and methods useful in virtually any coaching practice or process, including self-assesment profiles, books, articles, and worksheets for use with clients. Participants will walk through and practice a series of coaching strategies and participate in activities designed to deepen awareness and strengthen capacity. We will review the use of models and frameworks, such as the Personal Compass and the Blanchard-Homan Scrub-Down, and explore how to incorporate them into your coaching work. This course will introduce participants to The Quest, a powerful five-step coaching process to help people name, claim, and reframe their situations, commit to a solution-focused strategy, and follow it through.

Barbara Wilson is the principal of Acorn Learning and Development, www.acorn-potential.com, an enterprise devoted to improving workplace communications in order to strengthen working relationships. She is also a founding partner of Wellness Strategies LLC, a unique consortium dedicated to helping organizations bring out the best in their employees through the development of sustainable employee wellness initiatives. A seasoned facilitator and coach, Barbara engages individuals and groups by creating an exhilarating and supportive learning environment. This coaching series is based upon her APEX coaching process, designed to assist individuals in achieving their potential for personal and professional excellence.
