Labor and Employment Arbitration

This course is designed for both labor and employment advocates whose responsibilities include the arbitration process. It will benefit both experienced and inexperienced HR managers, labor relations managers, union representatives, business agents, and labor and employment attorneys. The course will address:

  • methods for settling before arbitration
  • preparing for arbitration
  • standards arbitrators use to decide cases
  • post arbitration compliance
  • arbitrator ethical standards

John Alfano has a been an arbitrator since 1987, serving on the arbitration panels for the American Arbitration Association, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, and the arbitration panels for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. He has arbitrated labor cases for a wide variety of groups in private industry as well as local, state, county, and federal governments.
