Implementing Project Management

Prerequisite: Effective Project Management.

This two-day workshop is designed for project managers who have a solid grasp of basic project management, but are interested in the specific challenges of introducing the methodology into an organization. You will work with a team in furthering your understanding of real-world issues surrounding project management implementation. You will:

  • Practice how to apply the Organizational Project Maturity Model
  • Develop change management and risk management applications
  • Explore the concept of marketing the project and its practices to various stakeholders in the organization
  • Develop a persuasive presentation about project management
  • Simulate question-answer handling of objections to project management

Jim Milliken has provided management and communication consultation to business, industry, and nonprofits throughout the United States since 1986. His specialties include project management, in which he holds the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, problem solving and delegation, business writing and advertising, and negotiation and presentation skills. His work combines organizational skills with nearly 30 years' experience as a newspaper editor.
