Conflict is inherent in all relationships and managing conflict effectively is high on the priority list of critical supervisory skills. Although conflict can be detrimental to individuals and organizations, when handled effectively, it can also be the root of new growth and development.

How supervisors manage conflict can have a profound effect on staff, how employees learn to deal with conflict on their own, and ultimately on the organizational culture. By learning how to manage conflict effectively, supervisors can reduce their own stress and stress in the workplace. In this workshop we will explore:

  • styles of conflict management
  • how our feelings and experience effect our view of conflict
  • the elements of conflicts
  • effective strategies for dealing with conflicts
