The Annual Fund

An annual fund is much more than a direct mail solicitation. Learn about the role that the annual fund plays within an organization, and how important it is when preparing to "launch" a major gifts or capital campaign. Understanding the components of an annual fund - and how each organization may view its fund - is an important piece of every fundraiser's work. In this course, we will explore:

  • the role of an annual fund within an organization's overall giving program
  • how an annual fund feeds a major gifts program
  • direct mail and donor acquisition
  • relationship management
  • donor stewardship at the annual fund level
  • maximizing your annual fund budget

You will leave with solicitation samples, a deeper understanding of annual fund best practices, and ideas on how to leverage an annual fund during turbulent economic times.
