Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture, Acupressure and Herbal Medicine

Recently this ancient system of holistic medicine has established a firm place within complementary medicine in the United States - yet much about it remains unexplained and strange to westerners. In this course, you'll be introduced to the history, holistic principles and basic concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine and be offered a personal taste of TCM as well. We'll discuss:

  • Diagnosis and treatment
  • Which conditions can be treated?
  • How does it work?
  • Research considerations
  • Education, licensing, and regulation
  • Self-treatment with acupressure
  • Wellness: living in harmony with natural rhythms

The class will include lecture, demonstration and experiential exercises. Clinicians will gain a basic understanding of TCM, know when to refer and learn about valuable tools they can use to support their own wellbeing.
