Evaluation of Training

This course will review the definition of evaluation in terms of training. You will explore a key model of training evaluation (Kirkpatrick), and how to integrate evaluation and training. You will learn:

  • to provide a rationale for evaluation (how, when, and if evaluation should be conducted)
  • to use Kirkpatrick's four levels of evaluation
  • to work individually or on a team to design and implement evaluation instruments
  • to use resource material to select evaluation methods that effectively support training efforts
  • to collect, analyze, and communicate data generated from evaluation instruments that quantify results of training programs

Jane Greer has over 20 years of experience designing and delivering both classroom and online training in the real estate, insurance and financial services industries (Coldwell Banker Real Estate, The Real Estate Learning Group, Unum, Wright Express, IDEXX, and UnitedHealthcare). She holds a Master?s Degree in Education with a focus on adult education from St. Joseph?s College (2004)and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Dartmouth College (1980). She currently is studying New Media at Southern Maine Community College, and is adjunct faculty at St. Joseph?s College in the MSEd in Adult Education and Training program.
