Fundraising Fundamentals |

For both the beginner and someone with years of experience in the field, fundraising is a curious mix of art and science. In this course, the fundamental characteristics of successful fundraising programs will be explored, beginning with a discussion of the unique phenomenon of U.S. philanthropy, the philosophy of development, and the ethics of fundraising. Building on this strong foundation, the workshop will continue to explore the themes of relationship-building through the following components:
This course will be helpful to anyone who wants to be a better fundraiser, whether as a volunteer or paid staff. Be prepared to participate!

Julie Poulin, CFRE, is currently the Vice President of Insitutional Advancement at Jobs for Maine's Graduates (JMG), where she is responsible for overseeing all of the development and fundraising activities for the organization. Previously, Julie was Director of Development at Opportunity Farm for Boys and Girls, where in addtition to her other responsibilities - she created and managed two signature special events that brought in more than $150,000 annually to the organization. Julie sits on the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern New England Board of Directors and volunteers for several non-profit organizations.
