Endowment Giving is when a donor makes an earmarked contribution that is invested in the USM pooled endowment. The corpus of the gift amount is invested, and only a portion (usually 5%) is paid out each year for the intended purpose(s). Any additional growth is added to the corpus to help keep pace with inflation.

The College of Education and Human Development identified three priorities for Endowment Giving:

  • Student Scholarships
  • Faculty-research Fellowships
  • Facilities
