David Shaw - founder, former CEO, and executive chairman of Ikaria Holdings, founder and retired CEO of IDEXX Laboratories, and director/founding investor of more than a dozen public and private companies - will discuss his adventures in entrepreneurial leadership.

David Shaw is the managing partner of Black Point Group, with wide-ranging interests in technology companies and public service. His business experience includes IDEXX (founder/CEO), Ikaria (founding CEO/chair), Sapphire Energy (director/investor), Ironwood Pharmaceuticals (director/investor), DirectVetMarketing (co-founder/chair), Itaconix (director/investor), Skinetics (co-founder), Cytyc (director/investor), Magen (director), Physion (director), Cambria (director), Venrock (partner), New Mountain Capital (senior advisor), the film Albert Nobbs (executive producer), and others.
Shaw has served on the faculty of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and the advisory board of the Center for Public Leadership. He is the treasurer of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), founding chair of the Sargasso Sea Alliance, director of the National Parks Foundation, and science advisory board member to Discovery Communications. Other affiliations have included chair of The Jackson Laboratory, board member of Maine Medical Center and Hurricane Island Outward Bound, and member of the Executive Committee of the US-Israel Science and Technology Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, and ServiceNation.
