Mary Mayhew, commissioner of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), will address the department’s vision of the future, the challenges that are facing Maine’s Medicaid program, and the opportunities that exist to transform the way services are delivered.
The lecture, sponsored by the USM Muskie School of Public Service, is free and open to the public.
Speaker Bio:
Prior to Mayhew’s appointment as Commissioner, she was the Senior Health Policy Advisor for the LePage Administration, focusing on health care issues and policies on both the state and federal levels.
Before joining the LePage Administration, Mayhew served as the Vice President for the Maine Hospital Association for 11 years. She was previously a partner in the public affairs firm of Hawkes & Mayhew, based in Augusta, and also served as a manager of state government relations for Equifax Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia.
