Sara joined the University of Southern Maine in 2011 after serving as both an instructor and advancement professional in higher education in southern Ohio for nearly a decade. At USM, she works with a team of professionals, from faculty and staff to interns and student groups, to further the university's mission of providing students with a high-quality, accessible, affordable education. Part of Sara's role is to shine a spotlight on research, scholarship, and accomplishments occurring throughout the USM College of Management and Human Service, including-
- New reports or policy briefs that can impact public policy or support community development
- Student achievements that illustrate the transformational effect of earning a USM degree
- Faculty and staff scholarship that provides new data or a new approach to pressing social concerns
- New, innovative programs designed to support workforce and economic development throughout Maine and the nation
Sara's favorite part about her job? Hearing that graduates of her college have found success in their professional and personal lives.

Bachelor of Arts, English, Hanover College
Master of Fine Arts in Writing and Literature, Bennington College
Areas of Expertise: Internal communications, public relations, grant writing, editing, integrated marketing, brand management
Research Interests: Early American literature, Puritanism in American Literature, evolution of the essay, linguistics, English epic poetry
