What's Eating Maine: An Excursion into the Local Food System

Event Date and Time:
Wed, 02/15/2012 - 4:45pm - 5:30pm
Location:
USM Portland Campus, Glickman Library, 7th Floor

Is Maine's food system healthy and prosperous for Maine? More specifically, is our food safe and healthful? Why does the cost of food always seem to be rising every time I go shopping? Is organic food better for you than food generated by the industrial model? Why do we need to regulate foods grown and raised in Maine?

Professor Mark Lapping, executive director of the Muskie School of Public Service, will address these questions on February 15th at 4:45 pm in the next edition of the L.L. Bean/Lee Surace Colloquium Series. The event will be held on the 7th floor of USM-Portland's Glickman Library.
