Alum Billy Libby Joins the Center For Grieving Children for CD Release Party

Media Studies alum Billy Libby will be performing at the CD release party for the Multicultural Program at the Center for Grieving Children's release party for their CD, Inner Strength.  Wednesday, May 09, 2012, 6:00 PM at One Longfellow Square in Portland, Maine. More info >>

The CD grew from a collaboration between Media Studies service learning practicum students (cms 450 with Dennis Gilbert) including LIbby with the Center for Grieving Children.  Billy Libby continued his work with the Center after the completion of the service project and founded Your Song, Your Story, a non-profit organization that "presents a means for children to express their emotions by giving them the opportunity to form their own personal song. By crafting their own lyrics and melodies in a style that they connect with, children will discover the pride of musical creation, the healing qualities of artistic expression, and in the end, have a recording of their song, and their story."
