Glorianne Schott joined the faculty as a part time lecturer in the fall of 2012. She received her B.A. in communication from USM in 1989, an M.S.E in higher education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and an M.S. in communication studies from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. Her graduate research focused on how students ability to “feel connected” impacts learning and satisfaction in distance education.
Glorianne previously taught in Iowa teaching courses in communication, public speaking, mass media, ethics, and composition where she continues as an online instructor. Her experience includes traditional face to face teaching and synchronous and asynchronous online environments. She also taught at Southern New Hampshire University teaching public speaking, mass media, and media and culture.
Glorianne's primary teaching areas at USM include CMS 102 and CMS 103. Students find Glorianne committed to student learning and sharing her passion for the study of communication.
Glorianne lives in the Midcoast and is married to her husband Tim, also a USM graduate. They have 3 children, a Siamese cat, and yellow lab. She enjoys music that has harmonies and genealogy research.
