Services for Commuters
Our office offers many services for commuter students. Please
review this partial list and let us know (using the "Ask Us!" link
on the right) if there are other services that you'd like for us
to list or offer. If we don't currently offer it, maybe we can!
Fax Machine
Our office has a fax machine that is available for student use. Local faxes
are free - you must use your own calling card or University Student
Voice Services code (visit
U.S.M. Telecommunications for more information) for long-distance faxes.
Bicycle Lockers
Bike lockers are available for a refundable $25 deposit
through the USM Office of Sustainability. Contact Dudley
Greeley at 780-4384 or dgreeley@usm.maine.edu.
Student Lockers
Lockers are available on the Portland campus in Luther Bonney
Hall, Payson Smith Hall and the Science Building.
You can simply choose an unused locker, put your own lock on it,
and use it for the year. You must clean out the locker prior
to leaving campus, as we do clean out the lockers after
Commencement each May.
E-Mail Bars
There are 4 computers set up in the Woodbury Campus Center for
use by commuter students to check e-mail, use the internet, etc.
Simply use your University log-in.
Information Desk
Our office staffs an information desk in the Woodbury Campus Center
to answer general campus questions, questions about the building, etc.
At the desk, we provide a telephone for on-campus calls and another telephone
for local calls. We also have information about the Greater Portland
area, events listings, jumper cables (to be used at student's own risk)
and other resources for commuters such as bus schedules, course
schedules and USM Navigators (the USM student handbook).
