Commuter Student Services
Robert L. Woodbury Campus Center
Our office manages the Woodbury Campus Center, which is the community center
of the USM Portland campus, serving students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.
Within the Campus Center, a variety of programs, services, and facilities are
blended to enhance the community life and complement the academic experience
on campus.
The Campus Center is a student-centered facility that attempts to
create a gathering place for students to get to know and understand others
through informal associations. The Campus Center also serves as a unifying force,
honoring diversity and inclusiveness, and fostering a sense of community that
encourages retention and commitment to USM.
Woodbury Campus Center hours of operation
Numerous service areas are located in the building, including:
- Woodbury Campus Center Information Center: (207) 780-4090. http://usm.maine.edu/commuter/. Information and referral for the Campus Center and for the University
as a whole. We maintain a web-based listing of off-campus housing options, we manage the postings
of campus flyers, signs and ads, and we manage the reservations for artisans, vendors, University
promotions and fund-raisers at tables in the building.
- U.S.M. Bookstore: (207) 780-4070, http://www.usm.maine.edu/~books/. The official campus bookstore for the University, open
Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. New and used textbooks, general reading, supplies
for classes, USM clothing and memorabilia are all offered. Cash, credit cards and "Husky Bucks" are accepted.
- Food Court: (207) 780-4039, http://usm.maine.edu/reslife/dining.htm. Breakfast, lunch and dinner choices are offered Monday through Friday.
"Dining Dollars" and "Husky Bucks" offer debit card convenience.
- Commuter Student Lounge: Located in the dining center area, the Commuter
Student Lounge is a gathering space created specifically for commuters, including a television and
comfortable seating.
