Certificate of Graduate Study in Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C)
The MHRT/Community certificate program is especially suited for practitioners who work in the mental health system and desire training in psychosocial rehabilitation, and persons with prior graduate training who need flexible coursework to update their skills and knowledge using psychiatric rehabilitation approaches. Persons with a bachelor's degree and one year direct experience in the mental health field or related fields may apply for the five-course certificate.

The five-course program described below leads to the MHRT/Community certification and can also lead to the new state ‘Employment Specialist Certificate'.*
HCE 510 Introduction to Rehabilitation Counseling and Services
HCE 514 Principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation
HCE 611 Medical & Psychological Aspects of Disability
HCE 612 Disability & Family in a Multicultural Society
HCE 615 Vocational Counseling & Placement in Rehabilitation
Courses may be taken in any order as long as pre-requisites are satisfied.
