Many of Southern Maine's top companies are actively recruiting interns and soon-to-be grads for summer positions in a wide variety of fields. Thursday, November 14, 12-4 pm in the Abromson Center we will be hosting the USM Technology Job Fair. We're expecting around 20 of Maine's top tech-related employers and they are all looking for top talent! This event is open to all qualified candidates. FMI and to see a list of participating companies, visit: http://usm.maine.edu/csth/studentjobfair After the job fair, faculty, staff, and students are invited to join the Project>Login Reception, 4-5:30 pm in the Abromson Center. Network with company representatives, hear about internship opportunities, and learn about Project>Login. More information available at http://www.projectlogin.com/reception-usm. Finally, head over to the Portland Public Library, 5:30-6:30 pm for a Cyber Security Science Cafe discussion lead by Edward Sihler of USM's Information and Innovation group. With the recent revelations of U.S. spying, it might be easy to think that this is a new endeavor only possible due to current technology. However, spying on friends and enemies is nothing new and has always employed the latest in surveillance techniques. This Science Café discussion will explore the fascinating history of modern codes and cyphers. This event is free and open to the public.
