CTEL offers the following grants and incentives to support technology enhanced teaching and learning initiatives at USM.
Up to $1,500 per faculty, per academic year is available for purchase of hardware, software, and other resources to support teaching and learning. Faculty teaching classes in face-to-face, blended, and online formats are encouraged to apply.
This grant program is open to all courses that are not part of USM's fully online programs or the USM Core. The goal of this competitive grant program is to encourage innovation in course design in academic programs across the University. Proposals will be accepted twice a year. We are currently accepting proposals for courses that will be offered in the Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 semesters. The deadline for submitting proposal for Summer 2014 courses is December 15, 2013 and for Fall 2014 courses the deadline is February 1, 2014. A review committee will review all proposals. Up to four proposals will be funded per semester. Support includes a $2000 award in addition to learning designer support.
$2000 incentives are available for the design of online classes in USM's fully online programs that are developed in partnership with the Division of Professional and Continuing Education and courses in the new USM core. Courses will be funded with a $2000 award in addition to learning designer support.
Up to four awards per semester (Fall and Spring) will be granted to faculty traveling to academic conferences to present papers related to teaching and learning. Faculty teaching classes in face-to-face, blended, and online formats are encouraged to apply. Reward amount is limited to 1,500 per faculty, per academic year. Award money can be used to cover conference registration, airfare, and lodging for the duration of the conference.
