RuchaPieterWhy reinvent the wheel and spend a lot of time developing teaching material when someone, somewhere has already done it and is willing to share their work?  Discover sources and examples of resources that you can use in your own courses.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are free teaching and learning materials that are available for anyone to use. Examples of OERs range from full online courses, textbooks, video lectures, assignments, syllabi, and tests/quizzes. These resources exist in the public domain or they have been made available through open licensing, which provide users with varying levels of permission to share, reuse, and adapt/remix materials for educational purposes. This workshop will provide an overview of recent trends in the OER movement and how educators can find, evaluate, and utilize OER materials in their courses.

The workshop will be facilitated by CTEL Learning Designers Pieter Tryzelaar and Rucha Modak.
