Danielle Layton is a Research Assistant II at the Catherine E. Cutler Institute for Child and Family Policy at the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine. She works on the VAWA Measuring Effectiveness Initiative project, funded by the Office on Violence Against Women, as well as other projects in the Justice Policy Program. Danielle is originally from California. She studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and the University of Maine at Farmington where she earned a Bachelors in Psychology and English. She is currently working on her Masters in Social Work at the University of Southern Maine. She is passionate about racial equality and transformative justice, and she loves going for walks, painting, and playing piano.
