Profile

George is Managing Director of the Children, Youth and Families-Justice Policy program area. He is also the Maine Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) Director. Mr. Shaler has been with the SAC since 2003 serving the first ten years as Research Associate and the last three years as its Director. During that time he has played an integral role in all of the SAC’s justice policy projects and products.

Areas of Expertise

George provides program evaluation and consultation services to state and local government agencies as well as community-based organizations. Mr. Shaler has worked on restorative justice, collateral sanctions, crime victimization surveys, disproportionate minority contact, community policing program evaluation, juvenile and adult recidivism analysis, and public health/health policy issues.

Education: 

Mr. Shaler received a BA in Anthropology from Hamilton College and a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
