Profile

Jennifer Lenardson is a Research Associate at the Muskie School of Public Service, conducting quantitative research across a range of health policy topics. Ms. Lenardson’s research interests include access to care for vulnerable populations, particularly rural residents. She is currently examining the individual-level characteristics and health behaviors of rural and urban adults and their association with mortality disparities. Recently completed projects include the analysis of national data to examine the prevalence and characteristics of rural opioid use and a literature review on the link between rural opioid use and HIV/AIDS. She received her M.H.S. in Health Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Prior to her employment at the Muskie School, Ms. Lenardson was a policy analyst for the Project HOPE Center for Health Affairs.

Rural health, health insurance, rural substance abuse prevalence and treatment access.
