As a Research Associate with the Cutler Institute for Health and Social Policy, Martha designs, conducts, and participates in mixed-method evaluation projects across a range of public health and health services research topics. She has a particular interest in health equity, child well being, and health services research to inform the design and delivery of effective public health programs and health services delivery models. Prior to USM, Martha worked as a Senior Evaluator within Health, Education, and Human Services Division of the Government Accountability Office in Washington, DC and as an Executive Director at the East End Children's Workshop, a community-based non-profit organization in Portland, ME.
Areas of Expertise
Primary areas of expertise include managing research and evaluation projects and teams; designing research and evaluation projects; overseeing the design and delivery of evaluation and research-focused interventions; developing data collection tools and protocols (e.g. survey instruments, interview protocols); communicating with collaborating agencies and program managers; and disseminating results through reports, briefs, and testimony.
