Sam joined the DSC in 2013 providing scribe and verbal description services for visually impaired students enrolled in high visual content courses. Other DSC roles have included testing proctor, tutor, and special assitant. Sam has worked alongside many professionals in social work and education, and has a passion for making opportunities available and accessible to all. In addition to his roles at the DSC, Sam has also served the USM community as a math tutor, lab assistant, and services coordinator.
Sam is a recent graduate and current professor in USM's Mathematics and Statistics program and holds his MS in Statistics. Sam lives in Portland, where he spends his free time on writing, game design, and taking walks when the weather isn't too too terrible. DSC is thrilled to welcome Sam into our new role of Testing Coordinator this semester.
