Mariusz Jankowski
Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering

Education:

B.E. Electrical Engineering, City College (NY), 1980

Professional Experience:

Dr. Mariusz Jankowski received the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the City University of New York in 1989. He was Visiting Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at The City College from 1989 to 1990. He is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern Maine. His primary research interests are in the development algorithms and software systems for digital image processing. In particular image enhancement, segmentation, shape description, and recognition with application to biomedical imaging and computer vision. Dr. Jankowski is the developer of a general purpose image processing package for Mathematica, a modern system for mathematical computing. Dr. Jankowski has received awards from the Ames Laboratory, Wolfram Research, and University of Southern Maine He has received grants from the National Science Foundation, Maine Science and Technology Foundation, and Department of Energy.
