bill grubbUSM Libraries provide not only the peer-reviewed journals and books that online students need, but also the one-on-one services that support those resources. Ranging from the online Research Skills Toolbox to chat reference assistance and live online instruction, the Libraries welcome the opportunity to work with online instructors. Bring your questions as we explore new ways in which USM Libraries can help you enhance your online course.

The workshop will be facilitated by Bill Grubb, Head of Reference and Instructional Services.

USM librarians are available to provide research instruction to your online class using Adobe Connect, Google Hangout, Skype, or other technologies, just as they routinely do in the classroom. USM’s online students have access to 40,000 journals and state-wide book delivery support, but they need to know how to find and properly cite them in order to succeed.  If you’d like a librarian to help your online students develop their research skills, schedule a session online or call 780-4272. If you would prefer to teach it yourself, the Research Skills Toolbox provides units of instruction, tutorials, exercises and quizzes asynchronously.

Questions can be directed to Bill Grubb at bgrubb@usm.maine.edu or 207-780-4672.
