USM's Lorrayne Carroll introduced Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" for its Portland Ballet production at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center. Carroll, an associate professor of English at USM, spoke about the classic story before the performance. The dance was accompanied by a live orchestra, which was conducted by Professor Robert Lehman of the USM School of Music.
