Bert Dutil
"I worked for awhile with the United Nations in Korea, before they signed the armistice. We had three generals that spoke French so all of a sudden I get a call from my superior. 'We need to have you sing and couple of French songs.' I did and they were so enthused with an American, who knows how to Speak French. They don’t believe that sometimes!"
This interview was conducted with the help of Story Bank Maine, December 16, 2010.
Bert, a Lewiston native, talks to the Collection about his family's Christmas traditions, his service in the Korean War, and his time as director of the Pine Tree Warriors, a drum and bugle corps.
