Minor in Applied Geography - Planning
To receive a geography minor in planning, students must take at least 18 credits of geography courses.
Any credits taken beyond these 18 required will go towards general elective credits.
Courses & Requirements
Of the 18 credits required for the minor, students are required to take: GEO 101 (Human Geography-3 credits), GEO 209 (Introduction to Land Use Planning-3 credits) or GEO 210 (Planning Maine Communities-3 credits), GEO 320 (Conservation of Natural Resources).
Choice of one: GEO 305 (Remote Sensing-3 credits) or GEO 308 (GIS I-4 credits).
Choice of one: GEO 303 (Economic Geography-3 credits) or GEO 402 (Urban Geography: 3-6 credits).
Choice of one: GYA 350-351 (Internship in Applied Geography-Anthropology: 1-6 credits) or GYA 400 (Independent Study in Geography-variable credit).
