University Health and Counseling Services

Carol Millhouse is a Family Nurse Practitioner on the Portland campus.  Carol earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Alderson-Broaddus College in 1972; her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Texas-El Paso in 1985; and her FNP Certificate of Advanced Study at the University of Maine in 1997.

Carol really enjoys working with college students.  She has worked in the UMaine System for over 30 years, starting at UM-Presque Isle and coming to USM in 1999.  She has clinical experience in obstetrics, surgery and neurosurgery and has taught nursing students at the Associate and Baccalaureate level.  Carol especially enjoys helping students follow preventive health practices to avoid illness and to achieve optimum health. 

Carol is married and has two grown children.  When not at work, she enjoys keeping physically active having done triathlons and run a half marathon.  She and her husband enjoy skiing in the winter months.
