Malinda
Scannell graduated from Boston College School of Nursing
with a Master’s of Science degree and obtained her Adult
Nurse Practitioner certification in 1987. Prior to
that, in 1980 she received a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing from her home state University, the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She worked as
an RN in Boston for over 5 years in the areas of
medical-surgical and intensive care nursing. She
ventured into community health while attending graduate
school. Since receiving her master’s degree, she has
practiced as an adult nurse practitioner in adult
medicine, women’s health, geriatrics, and college
health. She has also taught nursing students in both
academic and clinical settings.
Malinda loves
working within the college setting. As a mother of two
college students she is very aware of the multiple
challenges and needs faced by today’s college student.
Malinda lives
with her husband in coastal Maine. To relax, she loves
walks on the beach, traveling, XC skiing, hiking and
sewing.
