Minors are reminded that, in addition to Department requirements, they must also meet those of the University Core curriculum.
Courses & Requirements
Minor in History
USM students who desire a concentration in History must develop an 18-credit-hour minor. The program must be developed in consultation with a member of the History faculty and include at least four courses at the level of 200 and above.
A history minor must achieve at least six credits of B or better grades in history courses. No grade of D will count toward fulfillment of a history minor.
History minors should take introductory courses prior to taking upper level courses. Some of the department's 300-level courses have prerequisites. Students should read course descriptions carefully for prerequisites and plan accordingly with their faculty advisor.
