EPIDEMIOLOGIST/INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE COORDINATOR #7580 - search extended

A Field Epidemiologist is being recruited to oversee influenza surveillance activities in Maine.  The Epidemiologist will serve as the State Influenza Surveillance Coordinator and will support the ongoing development and management of the influenza surveillance activities, including collaborating with reporting partners, analyzing and disseminating surveillance data on a regular basis, and evaluating surveillance activities.  The Influenza Surveillance Coordinator will be a key contact with federal partners for influenza surveillance.  The Epidemiologist is part of a statewide team of epidemiologists coordinated by the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which is continuously developing public health preparedness capacity and striving to promote and protect public health.    Qualifications: Required: a Bachelors Degree in Epidemiology or closely related field with relevant work such as epidemiology, microbiology, and statistics and 2 years professional experience.  Preferred: A Masters Degree in Epidemiology or closely related field and basic coursework in biostatistics and experience using quantitative methods.  Send a cover letter, curriculum vitae to: Susan Taylor, Director of Administration, College of Nursing and Health Professions, P.O.
