Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering #9909
The University of Southern Maine Department of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering to begin in September 2010. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or similar discipline by date of employment. There is particular interest in individuals with expertise in electromechanical systems. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach a broad range of mechanical engineering courses and who have industrial experience. The successful candidate should show promise for excellence in teaching, service and scholarly activity. This is a new baccalaureate program which was approved by the trustees in January of 2006. Candidates will be expected to develop new courses and participate in curriculum development.
